Diving in Santa Marta and the Tayrona National Park

The ocean around Santa Marta has different diving sites among them coral reefs, sunken ships, caves and various marine ecosystems. These are located in the Tayrona National Park, Aguja Island, the Morro of Santa Marta, Rodadero and other bays wich are part of this beautiful city.

The number of fish species associated with coral reefs in Santa Marta is 149. The climate is tropical with temperatures ranging between between 25° C and 30° C and an average annual rainfall of 500 mm, the water temperature ranges between 21° C and 29 °C, the main current goes Southeast because of the Northeast trade winds which also cause that the water temperature goes down to 21° and increases the salinity.

There are various difficulty levels among the various diving sites in the area, from beginners to advanced divers.  Access to these sites is through a short one-hour trip on our boat.

In addition to normal trips for certified divers, we offer expeditions for experienced divers to more challenging dive sites which will offer you a more complete view of the biodiversity of the area. By the way all our instructors and dive masters are actually Marine biologists...

and for those who don't dive or are not certified and would like to introduce themselves to the wonderful underwater world, we offer mini-classes and diving courses.
